So, for the limited time I've spent with Matt Berry, I picked up three albums (Witchazel, Blue Elephant, and Phantom Birds) and I'm quite happy with my choices. I did, however, go ass-over-teakettle for Witchazel ("The Pheasant"/"Woman"/"Badger's Wake" are a trio of songs that really stuck the landing in my book). I'm actually listening to it right now, and it just isn't my cup of tea. I couldn't (and still can't) get into Kill the Wolf. Covered in Clowns nearly made me shoot milk out my nose when I first heard it. I adored Blue Elephant immediately, then got hooked by all the great weird Americana slide-guitar work on Phantom Birds (I really like Bobby Lee, and frankly anything that gets into cosmic choogle is a space I like to spend time in). I've come at Matt Berry's work a little sideways, having landed on Blue Elephant via some other prog/space-rock albums I was browsing on Bandcamp last week.
I'm familiar with (listened to) Kill the Wolf, Phantom Birds, Witchazel, Blue Elephant, and his album of television remakes.
